Niamh Quinn is a highly qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, offering both in-person therapy in Epsom and online sessions accessible across the UK and Europe.

I'm Niamh Quinn.

In my early 20s, I sought therapy to help me understand myself better and to make positive changes in my life.

After personally experiencing the benefits of therapy, I felt inspired to train as a therapist so that I could help others improve their lives.

I’m a registered member of the BACP and an accredited registrant of the NCPS and I’ve been helping people for 8 years now. I’m a pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist and this means that I use a range of therapy modalities and tools that can help you to feel better.

I’ll help you to decide the best therapeutic approach to use depending on the issues you’re struggling with and I have training in the following:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Person Centred Therapy
  • Reality Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy
  • Transactional Analysis
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Self-harm and suicide
  • Somatic Trauma Therapy
  • Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse
  • Anger Management
  • Stress Awareness
  • Therapeutic Use of Mindfulness
  • Personality Disorders
  • ADHD

I have a range of tools and techniques at my disposal, such as traditional counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, Somatic Trauma Therapy, and relaxation methods.

Our collaborative efforts will empower you to take charge of your anxiety and pave the way for a more fulfilling life.

What is Counselling & Psychotherapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy are often referred to as ‘Talking Therapy’.

Counselling is generally more short-term and is used to work through specific life challenges whereas psychotherapy tends to be more long-term work and can aid in processing deeper issues and trauma.

It is essentially a safe space for you to talk freely about any issues that you find difficult and need some support with.

I believe a collaborative approach is best where we explore together the root cause of your issues and come up with a plan to reach your goals.

How can Counselling & Psychotherapy help?

Counselling & psychotherapy can help you to:

  • Feel supported during difficult times
  • Understand the past
  • Talk about painful issues & feelings
  • Process trauma and find a way to move forward with your life
  • Improve relationships
  • Overcome & manage the stress of everyday life
  • Find meaning & purpose in your life
  • Increase self-confidence & self-esteem
  • Improve coping strategies
  • Improve wellbeing

Initial Consultation -
What happens in a session?

The initial consultation is 55 minutes.

This consists of an assessment where I gather some specific background information and we discuss what you would like to get out of therapy.

The first session also helps us to become acquainted with each other and may help you to decide if we are a good match and whether you would like to commence working with me.

If after the first meeting, you decide not to work with me, that’s okay, as it is very important that you feel comfortable with the therapist you are working with, as this will determine the success of the therapy.
